While doing some research, I found a most interesting article about how a christian college reviews it's films.. It uses the "Sophisticated Films Movie Guide", a publication of Clem Williams Films, Inc.... For those of you unfamiliar with Clem Williams, he's the soul who presented to the world "A Visit From Santa". Draw your own ironic conclusions.. Here's the link to the article:

Usually I'm content to lurk here and occasionally post a review on a film, but not this time. If Houghton uses a Clem Williams Films publication to choose movies, it makes me wonder if someone at the college holds the title of Coleman Francis Professor of Theater.

To be fair, Houghton only uses Williams's basic categories for judging the content of films. It's a pretty standard categorization that even the MPAA uses in their rating system: violence, obscenity, nudity, sex, and objectional content (such as sexism and racism). Parents also use that criteria when judging the content of films that their kids want to see. Common sense stuff.

Thanks for your kind words. I found out some interesting things about our buddy Clem. I wrote about them in my review of the "film." :-)

Yeesh. Why don't they just tape the Disney channel? Also, is "Christian Liberal Arts" a contradiction in terms?

I suggest that you read my new review of A Visit To Santa (added today) and give us a New Post with your factual information and intelligent opinions .If you disagree with my review, I expect full details.

OK I read it, although I don't disagree with the review, I am wondering how you became such an expert on Clem Williams films. Like how do you know all of them were'nt fly on the wall el-cheapo badly made productions? Give me an example of an excellent well-made film made by him.

!!!rOfL!!!

Clam Williams Films... rOfL!!!

That's a good question. I've only found 1 film by him, and how do you know where he died and that he was 'honoured in his community' or whatever that intelligible review said?
